There’s no doubting Dricus du Plessis is ‘big’ for a middleweight UFC fighter, but when it comes to being a Springbok, he’s on the small side.
The very small side.
Du Plessis walks around outside of UFC fighting weight at a reported 225-230 pounds (102 to 104kg).
Not sure how fighters do it, but come weigh-in time 48 hours prior to a fight, they cut weight down to a maximum of 185 pounds (84kg) for a middleweight.
Du Plessis stands 1.85m tall (just under 6-foot-1).
However, standing next to Springbok forwards Pieter-Steph du Toit and RG Snyman, Du Plessis is dwarfed by the two giants.
Du Toit’s stats show he’s 2 metres tall (6-foot-6) and tips the scales at 116kg.
Meanwhile, Snyman is a monster at 2.06m and 120kg.
We know who might win in the octagon, but on the rugby field, Du Plessis may be running scared …

What rugby position would Dricus du Plessis be best suited to – if any?
