Billykiss Azeez has broken her silence on her outrageously awful kiss with Martin Akinola during season 12 of Love Island – you know, the one dubbed the “worst kiss” in Love Island HISTORY.
The cringeworthy moment came before their dumping as they spoke about “living in the moment”, and Martin said his intention was “getting to know you more.”
“I don’t want this chemistry to go to waste,” he said, before asking the Love Island beauty whether he could kiss her. She responded, “Do you know what, because you’ve said it.”

We’ve seen some truly icky moments throughout Love Island’s 12 seasons, but people just couldn’t get over the “face eating” moment between Billykiss and Martin.
“I haven’t even been watching Love Island this year, but I just saw a clip of that Martin guy kissing, and I threw my phone in horror. Was that his ever first kiss of his life? I’m spun, never seen anyone kiss like that,” one person questioned on Twitter.
Another said, “That Martin and Billykiss kiss was the worst kiss I have ever seen.”

Billykiss said her Love Island kiss with Martin was her fault
We rarely see accountability on Love Island, and while this subject is considerably less serious than some of the toxic behaviours (looking at you, Harrison), Billykiss has taken the full blame for her kiss with Martin.
Sitting down on Love Island’s The Morning After Podcast, Billykiss admitted: “I refuse to watch any clips of that kiss, but it’s my fault.”
She continued to lay context for the awkward encounter, detailing how she had initially turned down a smooch. However, after kissing Boris the next day, she gave in to Martin’s saucy demands.

“Essentially, on the first night, Martin was keen for a smooch and I turned him down,” she explained.
“By the second day, I’d shared a kiss with Boris and then Martin asked me again. I felt compelled to say ‘yes’, even though I didn’t really want to. I felt awful. It’s my own doing – if you’re not interested, just say no again. My actions and energy were saying no. It’s my fault though, it’s my fault, I’ll take full responsibility.”
Still, I will be referring the kiss to The Hague – not the Molly-Mae kind.
