From the Airstrait to the Dyson Airwrap, there is no gizmo from the brand that disappoints. The aforementioned hair tools have sold out on numerous occasions due to popular demand, and there is a new kid coming to the block that we predict will have an equally successful outcome.
Dyson is set to launch the Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x Multi-Styler and Dryer in September, which may seem like a while to wait – but it’s worth it, believe us.

The multi-purpose hair tool boasts a powerful air flow powered by its Hyperdymium 2 motor that produces 30% more power and double the air pressure of the original Airwrap. The attachments are fitted with radio frequency identification, which enables the tool to adjust the settings to suit your hair type. It can be paired to the app to customise your hair styling session. The Airwrap Co-anda 2x is available in two sets Straight + Wavy or Curly + Coily both of which include six attachments and a carry case.
The Dyson Airwrap Co-Anda 2x has been designed with a new motor to make it easier and faster to dry, curl or straighten your hair in one full swoop.
What we love about the original Dyson Airwrap is it uses powerful air flow to dry and style the hair, which reduces the heat damage to your locks – always a bonus. This USP is not lost on the new iteration. In fact, the new model is fitted with a Hyperdymium™ 2 motor, which delivers twice the air pressure, so you can dry and style your hair even quicker than before, without any heat damage.
The other difference between the original and new Dyson Airwrap is this latest addition is smaller and lighter, which makes it easy to manoeuvre and control – another clever feature those who are not so au fait with hair styling will appreciate.
The Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x Multi-Styler and Dryer is equally as multifunctional as the original. It is a six-in-one tool that can dry your locks, as well as curl, create beach waves, straighten, smooth, and volumise your tresses.
A new feature is its radio frequency identification (RFID), which means the attachments automatically adjust to suit your hair type and style, so you can trust this tool has been designed with your hair health in mind.
The Airwrap 2x also boasts glass bead thermistors for intelligent heat control. This design feature measures the air temperature, and aims to keep that temperature stable for user protection.
The Airwrap 2x is app compatible, so you can programme your settings with one-touch ID curl technology for a customised experience.
Speaking about the new creation, James Dyson – founder and chief engineer – shared: ‘Dyson has developed a new motor for our new Airwrap2x™, which spins at 150,000rpm, delivering twice the air pressure, faster drying and less heat damage. The high pressure creates a longer lasting curl or straighter styles. Traditional stylers can damage hair, but we have always focused on developing tools that protect hair health whilst enhancing without compromising precision and or performance. We harness our expertise in motors, fluid dynamics, and materials to continually improve. New attachments like the AirSmooth2x™ create sleek looks, and the patented bristles on the Anti-snag Loop Brush 2x create snag-free styling, all while AI-driven sensors adjust heat to protect your hair. It’s about creating exciting long-lasting styles using with smarter, more efficient technology.’
The tool can fit nine styling attachments, though in the UK this is divided into Straight and Wavy set, as well as the curly and Coily set, both of which come with six attachments that are housed in a stunning case.
The Straight and Wavy st includes a 30mm Co-anda 2x curling barrel as well as 40mm size, an anti-snag loop brush, round volumising brush, AirSmooth attachment and fast dryer. The Curly + Coily set features similar attachments, including the 40m Co-anda curling barrel, anti-snag loop brush, round volumising brush, fast dryer, as well as a tension comb, and Wave + Curl diffuser.
Owners can also explore a range of standalone attachments to complement their set: the 20mm Co-anda2x™ curling barrel, 30mm Co-anda 2x™ curling barrel, AirSmooth2x™, Wave+Curl diffuser 2x and Tension comb 2x.
The Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x Multi-Styler and Dryer will be available in ceramic pink and jasper plum colours, both of which will retail for £579.99.
The exact release date is yet to be announced, but clear your diaries for its release in September.
