This article contains spoilers for tonight’s episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm or can be streamed now on iPlayer.

A gun has fired out across Albert Square – and two soap icons were in the firing line.

The nail-biting finale will undoubtedly leave viewers on tenterhooks, as we’ll all have to wait until tomorrow night to find out the aftermath of the shooting.

Teasing the special episode, executive producer Ben Wadey said: ‘As Zoe makes her dramatic return to Walford, more than one secret in her past will come to light as we look to explore the reasons behind her return, and what has happened in the past twenty years to make her the person she is today.’

Consider us very intrigued!

But who shot the gun, and who is in danger? Let’s take a look at what went on…

Who does the gun belong to?

Drug dealer Okie (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) threatened Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) with the weapon last week, wanting confirmation of his commitment in the scheme.

Okie was also looking for assurance that he wouldn’t stop them from using Kojo Asare’s (Dayo Koleosho) flat as a base.

Harry had already pulled a crowbar on him, but was shocked to see his response.

Luckily, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) walked in at the right time and demanded he put the weapon down. Harry was then told to get rid of it, before any damage could be done…

Ah, those famous last words!

Harry headed to some wasteland behind the playpark and across from The Arches, lifting a paving slab and kicking some stones to one side to hide the gun.

Not the safest of locations, and it didn’t take long for Ravi to realise that either.

He said that it had to be properly disposed of, somewhere where nobody would find it.

When Harry returned, it had vanished.

Who found the gun?

Just as Harry stepped away from planting the weapon, Walford’s resident troublemaker Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) strolled around the corner and noticed him behaving suspiciously.

At the end of yesterday’s instalment, his uncle Jack (Scott Maslen) found him in possession of a hold-all bag which he’d used to stash the gun.

Furious, he said that he could end up behind bars again.

As we caught up on events today, the two were bickering as they discussed their next move, with Jack quickly hiding it in his house.

Little did they realise, Ravi had overheard. He broke in through the kitchen door and was caught leaving by Denise Fox (Diane Parish).

She rushed to tell Jack, who left Patrick and Yolande Trueman’s (Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter) wedding celebrations to ensure that Ravi hadn’t managed to find the gun.

Unfortunately, he had, and the two men began to fight in the Square Gardens.

As they fell to the floor, both had their hands on the trigger as they rolled around, desperate to get their hands on it.

And then a shot was fired.

Who was hit by the gun?

On Bridge Street, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) were having the mother of all rows.

Kat was desperate for her daughter to stay, but Zoe insisted that something she had done in the last two decades was so terrible that her family wouldn’t want her to be part of their lives.

We didn’t explicitly see either of them hit, but with most of the other residents enjoying the wedding celebrations, it’s unlikely that both came away unscathed.
