The following article contains spoilers from an episode of EastEnders that hasn’t aired on BBC One yet, but can be viewed on BBC iPlayer.
EastEnders has finally confirmed the identity of Zoe Slater’s (Michelle Ryan) daughter.
Earlier this year, when Zoe returned to Walford, a flashback episode confirmed that she gave birth to twins in 2006. The boy was put up for adoption and at the time, Zoe believed that the little girl died.
She spent time searching for her son prior to returning to Walford, but didn’t have any luck.
When Zoe started reconnecting with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), she eventually decided to continue the search for her boy. She then lied to Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) about Dennis being the father of her twins, but we later discovered that Zoe only did this so she could get more money from Sharon, and pay another PI.
For this entire time, Zoe has only been looking for her son, believing her daughter died shortly after she was born.
In today’s instalment, we discovered a huge twist regarding her little girl.
Zoe’s on/off love interest Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) decided to use a colleague to dig into the files holding information about babies being abandoned in 2006.
She returned with news that a mother called Zoe gave birth to twins in that year.
To his shock, Anthony recalled the brief period he was with Zoe then, and realised that he must be the father of the babies.
Anthony’s colleague then confirmed something huge. She had found a note from the midwife, which stated Zoe’s daughter was resuscitated after her heart stopped beating. Because Zoe left the hospital as the baby’s heart stopped, she never knew what happened next.
As Anthony reeled in shock that he has two children he’s never met, we were seeing his daughter in a police station.
Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) told a detective that she came to Walford to find her biological mother, and pointed to Zoe’s face in a newspaper insert.
Prior to her trip to the police station, Jasmine was hanging out with Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier). She was keen for Oscar to talk to Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) about how sorry she is after pushing Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) down some stairs.
Oscar’s attempt at sweet-talking Lauren didn’t work, as Cindy and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) were both adamant that Jasmine could not be anywhere near the family. They believe that Jasmine is connected to the Ford family, a criminal clan led by the person Cindy informed on while in prison.
Jasmine was then arrested, with the detective also believing she was one of the Fords.
The young woman was not here for the detective’s questioning, and wasted no time in reiterating who her adoptive parents are.
Moments after this, she presented the newspaper article, confirming that she’s Zoe Slater’s daughter.
This is huge.
Jasmine has been so caught up in Beale and Branning drama, her path hasn’t led her into the pub.
How long will it be until she lays her eyes on Zoe?
Can’t wait for the next twist?

Jasmine Fisher arrived in September of this year. She began working at The Albert, and showed a particular interest in Cindy’s life and how chaotic it’s been.
This was what led fans to wonder if she is connected to the Fords. We later found out that Jasmine does not have a social media presence, fuelling the theory that she was hiding something.
But now we know who she really is, why was Jasmine so obsessed with Cindy’s life?
Could it be that she also abandoned her children, just like Zoe?
