Mexico City.- PAN deputies in Mexico City urged the capital’s government to reinforce security in The Ajuscoafter reporting 16 disappearances so far in 2025, according to the National Registry of Missing and Unlocated Persons. Throughout the mayor’s office Tlalpanthe cases total 141, which positions it as the fourth district with the most reports in the capital, climbing two places compared to the previous year.
The local representative Liz Salgado announced that it will request a detailed report from the Head of Government on the progress in the search for missing people in the area, as well as the specific strategy to regain security.
He criticized that, during her appearance before Congress, the president did not present concrete results, limiting herself to promises and plans without verifiable figures.
Salgado warned that The Ajusco faces a reality marked by disappearances, violence and death, with the confirmed presence of organized crime groups and loggers. The Una Luz en el Camino collective has documented 38 disappearances in the last four years, of which 13 people were found dead.
Deputy Andrés Sánchez also spoke out, celebrating that the capital government recognized the institutional abandonment in the area, although without presenting evidence. He recalled that searching mothers, athletes and neighbors have demanded support during search days and urgent protection measures, without an official response.
Sánchez is promoting a lighting program in high areas of Tlalpan and denounced that the groups have been marginalized for making the crisis visible. He pointed out that the 38 cases lack investigation folders with follow-up. Although the Government announced security modules, cameras and computer systems, it warned that there are still victims demanding justice.
Looking ahead to the 2026 economic package, the PAN-CDMX will promote greater security infrastructure in The Ajuscoinsisting that historical abandonment must be reversed with concrete actions and a sufficient budget.
