Emmerdale character forced out in heated showdown after pitchfork horror

April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) furiously confronted Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, after he threw Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) out of his house.

Dylan has been living with Paddy and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) ever since the local vet learnt he was living rough. Dylan was introduced to us when April was homeless, but then went to rehab.

We discovered that Dylan had been dealing drugs for a man called Ray Walters (Joe Absolom), but also really wanted to turn his life around. It’s been tricky for him, and not securing a small job in the village has meant he’s turned to Ray to earn money fast.

This week, April worried that Dylan had retreated to his old ways when she saw him getting into a stranger’s car. Fearing for her boyfriend, April told Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Paddy that when Dylan lived on the streets, he would partake in sex work for cash.

In reality, Dylan wasn’t doing this, but he was doing another job for Ray.

The teen then attempted to take a stand and tell Ray that he no longer wanted to work for him. The drug dealer let Dylan go, telling him that they could still be friends, but he understood his decision.

Dylan was then given a small glimmer of hope when Marlon offered him a pot washing job at the pub. The money wasn’t particularly great but it was more than enough for Dylan.

Yesterday, Dylan was seen in the pub back room grabbing a small break. It was at this point Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) walked in to grab his phone. He laid his eyes on Dylan, and immediately became fearful.

Kyle knew that he was looking at the person he stabbed with a pitchfork. Dylan and another lad broke into Butlers Farm recently, but Kyle ended up attacking Dylan in a state of fear.

With only a small handful of people knowing what happened, Dylan begged Kyle to keep quiet. This didn’t last long, as he updated Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) when they got back home.

Revenge was on the cards for Moira in tonight’s episode, and it started with tricking Dylan into thinking she needed some help at the farm.

In a barn, Moira grabbed a pitchfork and confronted Dylan with it. Fortunately, Marlon and April arrived in time and stopped Moira doing anything she’d later regret.

Because Marlon and April told Chas about Dylan’s involvement in the break-in, it caused more problems for Paddy. Chas made it clear to him that she doesn’t want Eve living with someone like Dylan, and that he needed to leave.

An argument ensued between Marlon, April, Chas, Mandy, Paddy and Moira. They were all clashing over whether or not Dylan should stay at Tenants.

Paddy and Mandy then returned home, where Mandy gently told her husband that Chas might have a point. While they enjoy having Dylan around, neither of them really know him, which means there will always be a chance a darker side is exposed and he puts Eve in danger.

Paddy listened and came to accept what Mandy was saying. That, and he knew Chas wouldn’t change her mind.

With no choice, Paddy told Dylan that he needed to leave. His guilt was already overwhelming him by this point, as Paddy told Dylan that he had paid for him to stay at a hostel.

The news hit Dylan hard. Living with Paddy and Mandy was the first sign he had in ages that he can live a normal life, and now it’s been taken from him.

In the café, April tried to help Dylan work out a plan. They had found an ad for a bedsit nearby, but it was expensive.

April then suggested that Dylan did a couple of jobs for Ray to save up the money for the room.

The youngster believed that they didn’t have any other option and because both of them have been manipulated by Ray, they also aren’t particularly aware of the extent of the dangers that come with working for a dealer.

Just before the episode ended, a shiny black car arrived outside the bus stop to pick Dylan up. Driving it was Ray, who no doubt knew it wouldn’t be long until the teen came back to him.
