Emmerdale’s James Moore has shared a moving tribute following the death of his dad.
The actor, who is 33, has played the role of Ryan Stocks in the ITV soap since 2018.
James recently took to Instagram to confirm that his father Stephen died after being diagnosed with the blood cancer Multiple Myeloma.
In the emotional post, James shared pictures of his beloved dad. He said in the slideshow voiceover that Stephen ‘was an amazing father of three sons’.
He has also asked his followers to donate to a Just Giving page he has set up in memory of his dad. He aims to donate the money to charities who help with the treatment and diagnosis of the blood cancer.
In the description of the Just Giving page, James confirms that he is planning on taking part in a huge bouldering event as part of his efforts to raise more awareness.
‘On August 16, it would have been his [Stephen’s] 70th birthday’, James wrote.
‘I made a donation to the charity Myeloma UK in his honour, but it got me thinking that there must be more I can do. A lot of people take part in sponsored running or walking events – I have cerebral palsy, so these kind of things aren’t really suitable for me. But over the past several months I’ve become really invested in bouldering.
‘With that in mind I plan to do a charity climb, with friends and family also taking part, at 270 climbing park in Cheltenham.
He added: ‘We will be on harnesses, taking turns to climb a 17 metre wall, hopefully climbing the equivalent of Ben Nevis over the course of the day. There will be about 7 or 8 of us climbing, and people are welcome to come along and watch.
‘Thank you for reading, and donating.’

James’ Emmerdale character Ryan is the long-lost son of Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).
In recent years, focus has been on Ryan’s relationship with Gail Loman (Rachael Gill-Davis).
Over the past couple of years, the two residents faced challenges, but their relationship always remained strong throughout.
Things started to change for Gail earlier this year, as she started to feel underappreciated at the pub. She came up with a Mr and Mrs quiz idea a few days later, hoping to impress people around her, but it went terribly wrong.
When Ryan and Gail sat down to answer the questions hosted by Kerry (Laura Norton), things got awkward as they kept getting the answers wrong.

Back at the pub, Gail told Ryan that she believes they’ve fallen out of love with each other, news that left him gutted.
Gail spent the evening on the sofa at Marlon’s (Mark Charnock), and the lack of contact started to cause Ryan concern.
He was reassured by Charity (Emma Atkins), but Ryan was right to be worried – Gail had been thinking a lot about him and her future while on her own.

After a chat with Mary (Louise Jameson), Gail returned to the pub and admitted to Ryan that she wants her life to look like something other than helping out at the pub. This life wasn’t a problem for Ryan, but Gail believed she was put on the earth to do more.
She told Ryan that she had spoken to her friend in Devon, and will be leaving the village to move there.
Ryan was heartbroken, but respected Gail’s decision to leave. After packing up her things, Gail said a final goodbye to Ryan and left the Dales, ready to begin a new life elsewhere.
