Things are still quite frosty between Emmerdale’s newlyweds Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) after he learned she’d slept with another man and Gabby learned Vinny wouldn’t mind sleeping with a man either.
They tried to figure things out, with Vinny committed to solving things, and even local vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) stepped in to help the newlyweds find their way. But they are miles away from the happy marriage they’d hoped for.
They both vowed to move forwards but they’re both still struggling – Gabby with the idea Vinny might be gay, and Vinny for the same reason.
Gabby was then left perturbed when she spotted Vinny hugging Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) and immediately got the wrong idea. She stormed out of the café, only for Vinny to chase after and make her feel an inch big after explaining the truth – they’re just friends.

Either way, it was a huge alarm bell that they’re not in a great place with zero trust.
Gabby just cannot shake her fear that Vinny isn’t settled with her, and Vinny isn’t feeling much better with people like Lewis in his ear telling him his feelings for Gabby will likely change as his true sexuality comes to the surface.
She’s worried when Vinny starts texting someone and is secretive about it, so she takes underhand steps to investigate. She raids Vinny’s phone.

Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) catches her in the act and is horrified. Gabby tries to talk her way out of it and begs the mother-in-law to keep this shocker from her son.
Gabby learns Vinny has good reason for the secrecy and is satisfied with what she’s found, but Mandy knows this is a devastating turn of events. It means their marriage is crumbling before it’s even begun.
She begins to question whether the pair have already grown apart, which prompts a huge reaction from Gabby – she makes a massive decision on both of their behalf, and Vinny can’t quite process what she’s done. Is it over?
