Emmerdale’s Robert framed for ‘killing’ both John and Aaron in ravine double murder

It doesn’t rain for Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) next week in Emmerdale, it torrentially pours, when John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) frames him for his own and Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) ‘deaths’.

As if it wasn’t bad enough being beaten unconscious while trying to save your ex-husband and soulmate from his psychotic husband who’s also your brother in law.

Imagine then having to witness said brother in law grab said soulmate and jump into a gorge just after phoning the police and framing you for the whole thing.

Sounds unbelievable, right? Well that’s exactly the predicament poor Robert finds himself in next week following the climax of unhinged John’s reign of terror.

Next week sees Robert determined to rescue the love of his life from John, shortly after Aaron himself realises just how much danger he’s in.

Robert bravely storms the cottage and lays a flurry of allegations at John’s feet, namely murder. John shows no fear and as things between the two become physical, John stands victorious while Robert is left laying.

As Aaron desperately searches the woods for the hatch he knows could lead him to the truth about the ultimate fate of best friend Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), he finds himself standing on the edge of a gorge and, turning back, comes face to face with John.

John tries to spin another web of deceit, but it’s too late, Aaron knows too much, and pleads with John to take him to Mack.

When it looks as if John might comply, Robert’s re-emergence sends him spiralling once again.

Calling the police and framing Robert for what he’s about to do, John grabs Aaron and jumps over the edge of the gorge, while Robert can only look down at their lifeless bodies in horror.

Though Robert calls the emergency services for help, he finds himself firmly in the frame for the entire ordeal.

Returning home and trying to convince the villagers of John’s guilt, he’s met with sheer disbelief. Robert is completely alone now – nobody believes him.

A vengeful and bloodthirsty Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) vows that Robert will pay for what happened to Aaron and as he waits to be interviewed by the police, he pales at the realisation that he could well be going back to prison for this.

Has John’s potentially final act finished Robert for good?
