The Heidelberg startup SafeHome GmbH, which is behind the Enzo brand, recently completed a significant round of financing. With an investment of four million euros, led by EquityPitcher Ventures and the startup BW Innovation Fonds & MBG Baden-Württemberg, the company’s seed capital increases to a total of 6.2 million euros. Other investors include Silence VC and the impact angel network Better Ventures. This financial injection will help further develop SafeHome’s AI-based IoT platform and drive international expansion.

Enzo offers an innovative solution for monitoring buildings in real time. The company’s patented sensors can identify water damage up to 40 times more precisely than traditional water meters. This is of particular interest to insurance companies, as pipe water damage is one of the most expensive claims in residential building insurance. In Germany, such damage costs around five billion euros annually. Enzo already works with several major insurers, including BarmeniaGothaer, Alte Leipziger, INTER, Hiscox and SV SparkassenVersicherung.

Enzo’s technology is based on an AI-powered sensor solution that can be installed without a tradesman. This solution makes it possible to detect water damage at an early stage, thereby reducing costs for insurers by up to 70 percent. Enzo’s business model involves charging insurers a service fee, creating a win-win situation for both parties. The investment in the further development of the platform and the expansion of partnerships is intended to further strengthen Enzo’s market position.

Co-founders Sascha Wolf and Marvin Follmann bring valuable experience from the startup world. Follmann was previously a developer at the Munich unicorn Celonis, while Wolf helped set up the Heidelberg startup Getsafe. Together they founded SafeHome to develop digital solutions for monitoring and sustainable use of drinking water systems in buildings. SafeHome’s vision is to take a leading role in the area of building security and monitoring not only in Germany but also internationally.
