Erm, has Elmo been hacked? Beloved character goes rogue with the most wildly offensive tweets

Elmo, the beloved Sesame Street character turned social media influencer, has done a complete 360 by posting the most outrageously offensive tweets since Kanye West’s Twitter meltdown earlier this year.

While most people know Elmo as the iconic muppet on Sesame Street, as of late, the talking red monster has become an influencer of shorts. His Twitter account is VERY active, offering words of wisdom and countless viral moments, and now “Balasamic vinegar, that’s a big word for Elmo” is eternally burned into my brain.

Though his content is *usually* very SFW, over the weekend, Elmo posted a series of tweets that have some people calling for his arrest – take a look.

Elmo, or whoever hacked his account, started off small over the weekend by celebrating the crypto account OnChain Studios with: “Happy crypto all-time high day, everybody! From Elmo and @onchainstudios. To the moon!!!”

But things took a much darker turn after that as Elmo posted “Kill all Jews.”

“Elmo says ALL JEWS SHOULD DIE. F**K JEWS. DONALD TRUMP IS NETANYAHU’S PUPPET BECAUSE HE IS IN THE EPSTEIN FILES. JEWS CONTROL THE WORLD AND NEED TO BE EXTERMINATED,” he wrote in a follow-up, before switching to another subject.

Last week, after the FBI found that Jeffrey Epstein had killed himself and that he had no client list, many accused Donald Trump’s administration of covering up the late financier’s connections to high-profile figures.

Elmo did not mince his words as he demanded: “RELEASE THE FILES @realDonaldTrump CHILD F**KER.”

His other posts largely centred around cryptocurrency, though he did use racial slurs and transphobic language in replies to other Twitter users.

Reacting to Elmo’s Kanye-style meltdown, one person wrote: “Waking up to Elmo calling for the release of the Epstein files & the death of jews.”

“Was Grok running Elmo’s account?” another said, as a third added, “Sounds like Elmo’s had a rough day.”

Elmo’s wildly offensive tweets were quickly removed by whoever runs his account, alongside any replies he offered to concerned followers on Twitter. A spokesperson for Sesame Street later revealed how Elmo’s account was hacked. As of now, Elmo’s most recent tweet is about another stuffed animal character.

“Elmo’s X account was compromised today by an unknown hacker who posted disgusting messages, including antisemitic and racist posts. We are working to restore full control of the account,” the rep told Fox News.
