Gangnan District in Guigang City, Guangxi recently signed a major cooperation agreement with Shandong Jinyuan Wood Industry Co., Ltd. signed. This partnership aims to establish an impregnated paper and decorative board production line that will produce 40 million impregnated papers and 12 million decorative boards annually. This initiative is expected to generate annual sales of approximately 680 million yuan, underscoring the economic importance of the project.

Gangnan District’s geographical location provides strategic advantages as it is close to the ASEAN Economic Zone and acts as a gateway to the Southeast Asian market. The district is surrounded by extensive forest resources and actively exploits the logistical advantages of the Guigang inland river hub and the Xijiang Golden Waterway. This infrastructure makes it possible to reduce overall costs and serve the ASEAN market efficiently.

In recent years, the timber industry in Gangnan District has developed significantly. Since 2006, the number of wood industry companies has increased from over 30 to more than 1,400, including over 300 companies that have reached a significant size. Gangnan Wood Industrial Park has become one of the most important production sites for China’s leading wood panel brands, producing over 10 million cubic meters of high-quality furniture and furnishing panels annually.

A key aspect of industrial transformation in Gangnan District is the integration of artificial intelligence into manufacturing processes. Companies like Boyite Smart Home have developed AI-based models that significantly improve operational efficiency through intelligent quality control and an efficient trading platform. These technological advances help to sustainably increase production efficiency and product quality.

Gangnan District adopts the “one park with multiple zones” model to develop industrial centers such as Jiangnan Industrial Park and Suwan New District. These centers focus on bespoke furniture and aim to create a high-quality demonstration cluster for the green furnishings industry. These efforts are intended not only to contribute to the regional economy, but also to promote the modernization of modern forestry.
