Eurostar has relaunched its winter snow trains for 2025 and 2026.

Simply named ‘Eurostar Snow,’ the high-speed rail service links London St Pancras with Lille, in northern France, and beyond.

Trains will run for 16 weeks from December 20, 2025, until April 4, 2026, which is the end of the winter season.

From Lille, passengers can travel on to other Alpine destinations by train, including ski hotspots such as Chambéry, Albertville, Moûtiers, Aime-La-Plagne, Landry and Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

These connections are included in the Eurostar Snow ticket.

Travellers arriving at Bourg-Saint-Maurice station will find coaches linking them to popular resorts like Val Thorens, Val d’Isère, Courchevel, La Tania, Tignes, Meribel and Les Menuires.

When are the Eurostar Snow trains running?

Trains from London St Pancras to Bourg-Saint-Maurice will depart on Saturday mornings at 9.01am.

The journey — which Eurostar describes as a ‘more sustainable way to reach the Alps’ — takes just under eight hours.

The return trip leaves Bourg-Saint-Maurice every Saturday at 1.45pm and every Sunday at 10.45am. This journey time is around nine hours.

Note: the London to St Pancras route ends on March 28, 2026. The last journey from Bourg-Saint-Maurice is on April 4.

When travelling to France, passport checks are completed in the UK. This means you can hop off at your stop and start your holiday.

But when you’re heading home, you’ll need to clear border control and security in Lille.

How much do Eurostar Snow trains cost?

Eurostar Snow fares start at £99 each way. However, travelling during peak times, which is considered to be Christmas week, New Year’s, and the February half-term, costs more.

Metro found an outbound journey on Saturday, January 17, with a return a week later on Saturday, January 24, for £323.04.

In contrast, the lowest week-return fare currently available from Saturday, February 14, jumps to £733.48.

On all regular services, the Eurostar Café serves a selection of food and drinks. For travellers with Eurostar Plus tickets, meals are delivered directly to your seat.

How to make the connections

When you get to Lille, disembark the train and head straight to the main floor. Here, you should check the departures board to find the platform for your connecting train.

Then, make your way back down to the platform level for the next Eurostar train to Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

How much luggage can you take on Eurostar Snow?

Good news for skiers, Eurostar Snow allows for ample baggage. Adults can take up to two pieces of luggage (maximum 85cm long), one piece of hand luggage, and skis or a snowboard.

‘Hand luggage refers to items such as backpacks, handbags, briefcases and laptop bags,’ states the website.

Unlike budget airlines like Wizz Air, Ryanair, and easyJet, there is no luggage weight limit.

The Eurostar website recommends travellers check their luggage allowances and rules on sports equipment before packing. The latter asks travellers to keep skis and snowboards in protective cases, with straps attached to the case.

On all other Eurostar trains, sports equipment is classed as one of your two pieces of luggage.
