Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Marshall Munetsi has included former Kaizer Chiefs stars in his best five-a-side team.
The 29-year-old former Olrando Pirates player joined English Premiership side Wolves in February from Stade Reims of France. The Zimbabwean international has only made one assist in four matches for his club which is bottom of the log.
Munetsi played for the Buccaneers between 2017 and 2019 before making a big move to France. After six successful seasons with Stade Reims, he joined Wolves for around €20-million.
Kaizer Chiefs legend Nengomasha praised by EPL star
“For my five-a-side goalkeeper from Zimbabwe, I have to go for the late George Chigova. I also played with him and because of his presence in the box and his ability to play from the back. I think he’s one of the best for me,” Munetsi said as per FARPost.
“For defenders, this was probably tough, but since it’s a five-a-side, I’ll go for Norman Mapeza. He played for Galatasaray. He was a quality defender. One of the best that has ever been produced from our country.
The EPL star revealed that he has always looked up to Kaizer Chiefs legend Tinashe Nengomasha. He also added former Amakhosi stars; Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat in his five-a-side team.
“In midfield, I will go with Tinashe Nengomasha. He is somebody whom I really looked up to. That’s why I also wear the jersey number eight for Zimbabwe. He is my inspiration.
“I will take Peter Ndlovu. Being the first African player to play in the Premier League, he really represented us very well. And I will also take Knowledge Musona. He has been pivotal to our football team for many years now, and I think his ability to score is impressive.
Munetsi adds former Kaizer Chiefs stars to his dream team
“That’s why it’s difficult to choose five. I would prefer to go for eleven. A whole team, that’s easier.
“I will also go for Khama Billiat. He was Africa’s best player. He has been playing for Zimbabwe for a very long time. So I think I will add Khama Billiat,” added Munetsi.
