The original Super Smash Bros. and other Nintendo 64 gems might be heading to Nintendo Switch Online, according to blurry images deciphered by fans.
With all the attention on GameCube games being added to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service, ready for the Switch 2 launch, new additions across other classic consoles have seemed to dry up recently.
The most recent addition to the Nintendo 64 library was Killer Instinct Gold in May, which joined the likes of F-Zero X, GoldenEye 007, Jet Force Gemini, and Banjo-Kazooie on the 30+ game line-up.
While Nintendo itself has yet to announce any future Nintendo 64 titles coming to the service, eagle-eyed fans believe they’ve found evidence of several as-yet unannounced games in the pipeline.
As highlighted by X user ImakuniVT, this all stems from a trailer in May, which showed off some new Nintendo 64 features on Switch Online exclusive to Switch 2, namely the ability to rewind and a new CRT filter.
While showcasing the latter, a blurred image of the game selection screen can be seen – which has left some fans in a tizzy as they believe it has outed various Nintendo 64 games coming to the service in the future.
Some fans have shared their findings on X, as they try to match up the distorted, blurry colours with Nintendo 64 game boxes. Based on their results so far, they believe Donkey Kong 64, Super Smash Bros., Forsaken 64, Glover, and Rayman 2 are all on the way.

The line-up is certainly believable, although Forsaken 64 feels like a somewhat niche pull, but the methods might raise a few eyebrows – with some of the comparison videos looking more accurate than others.
It’s also possible this background image was simply placeholder art, and has nothing to do with what games are planned for Nintendo Switch Online, but it certainly wouldn’t be the first time Nintendo has dropped a tease accidentally.
With Donkey Kong Bananza set to launch on July 17, Donkey Kong 64 does seem like a no-brainer – even if the game itself is probably best forgotten as the worst kind of collectathon.
As for GameCube games on the service, Super Mario Smash Football was recently added to the roster, with Super Mario Sunshine, Chibi-Robo, Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Luigi’s Mansion, and Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance all set to arrive at a later date.
