Starting December 17, the Government of Mexico, through the Economic Culture Fund (FCE), will distribute 2.5 million books free of charge to young people in 14 Latin American countries.
Mexico City, October 23 (However).- The Government of Mexico reported that, through Economic Culture Fund (FCE)will distribute 2.5 million books to young Latin Americans for free, a plan that will begin to be implemented in mid-December.
In his morning conference today, the President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that it will be December 17 when the distribution of books to people between 15 and 30 years old from 14 countries of Latin Americawhich will begin with a symbolic act in the Plinth of the Mexico City (CdMx)where the federal president herself will open the first box of said books.
“Two and a half million books given away in Latin America, in various agreements that Paco [Ignacio Taibo II]from the Economic Culture Fund, has been doing with federal governments or state governments, or even municipal governments in different places in Latin America and we are very happy,” he commented on the subject.
The books that will be given away are part of the 25 for 25 collection, which is made up of 27 literary works:

Paco Ignacio Taibo II, general director of the FCE, explained that the objective of this initiative is for young people to carry out book exchanges in clubs and reading rooms throughout Latin America.
“The expectation is that we will change the way thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of teenagers read,” he said during his participation in the conference headed by Sheinbaum, where he also shared that distribution will be possible after an effort that took two years.
