Every time Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) hurts Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), he always worms his way out of trouble. But when Todd collapses in front of two Coronation Street residence, is the monster finally about to be exposed?
Evil Theo has subjected Todd to more or less every kind of abuse there is. Physical, emotional, mental, and most recently, financial.
Since the death of Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), Theo has taken advantage of Todd’s grief to tighten his control within their toxic relationship.
Not only was Billy a close friend and former boyfriend of Todd, but he was the only person who knew the full extent of Theo’s abuse. It’s safe to say that losing such a trusted confidante has been a serious blow. It’s not been easy on Theo either, to be fair – seeing as he’s the one who left Billy to die in the fiery wreckage of the Corriedale crash.
Tormented by guilt, Theo is more desperate than ever before to keep Todd close. After discovering late demands for payments, Theo forced Todd into cutting up his credit cards and agreeing to a joint bank account. Now with his tormentor’s hands controlling the purse strings, Todd has no choice but to live on a pittance and rely on Theo for everything.
But this latest method of control is about to backfire spectacularly. In upcoming scenes, Todd begins to spiral as his fellow Weatherfield residents start to suspect that he’s struggling financially, leading to a medical crisis.
Early in the week, Todd’s touched when Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) and George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) treat Todd to a few beers and a takeaway. But when he notices some missed calls from Theo, he quickly moves away to listen. What will Theo say?
When Todd joins James Bailey (Jason Callender), he balks at the price and is forced to lie that he’s left his bank card, prompting James to pay instead.
Later Todd returns home to Theo, who makes a snide dig about him wasting money. Handing over a tender, Theo orders Todd to buy something for tea and make sure he gets a receipt. It’s clear Theo’s enjoying this newfound financial control over his victim…
It’s sickening to see a jealous Theo toss Billy’s photo in the bin, before heading out with the bin bag. He confronts Todd with a takeaway bag he found in the outside bin, pointing out the calorific content of a curry and ordering Todd on a run. Todd limps down the street…while James watches with concern.
Back in the flat, Todd notices Billy’s photo missing. Will Theo own up?
After their confrontation, later Todd emerges from the bedroom and rubs his neck, clearly in pain. What has Theo done to him?

The next day, it’s clear Theo managed to worm his way out of trouble again as he chuckles to himself at the love bite on Todd’s neck.
Later, at the shop, a broken Todd, tormented by teasing from Jake Windass (Bobby Bradshaw) about the love bite, suggesting that he’s pregnant. Reaching breaking point, Todd snaps at Jake, forcing Gary Windass (Mikey North) to intervene. Todd’s mortified. And it only gets worse back home, when Theo reveals to Todd that he just had a call from Gary. How will a raging Theo react?
What Theo does is strictly under wraps for now, but the fallout is set to be explosive when Todd returns from a run only to collapse unconscious on the ground in front of horrified George and Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins).
