Final days of the Candy Drive with The Salvation Army of Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga, (WJBF)- The Salvation Army and Queensborough National Bank & Trust Co are wrapping up this month’s Candy Drive.

But it’s not too late to donate.

You’re encouraged to drop off bags of candy to help bring smiles to local children’s faces.

You can donate at any of the Queensborough National Bank & Trust Co. branches or you can go straight to the Kroc Center.

These donations will help provide candy for this weekend’s Kroc Fest.

The Salvation Army of Augusta’s major says they are expecting a huge turnout.

“We estimate around 1000 people coming here. And so the need for candy, for sure is just it’s the importance of those donations, is it’s a safe place for our families and our children to come and enjoy a little bit of the fall festivals,” said Major Jonathan Raymer.

He also encouraged people to sign up for Trunk or Treat at the Kroc Fest.

“We’re in need of people who would like to bring their trunks here and be a part of trunk or treat decorating. If you go on Kroc Augusta dot org, you can find those links to be able to sign up to do that. And we’d love to have you here as a part of that.”

Candy donations should be made by Friday.

Kroc fest is free and it’s this Saturday from 11am to 2pm at the Kroc center.
