Five Guys has been a fast food staple in the UK since launching here in 2013 and now has around 180 locations nationwide.
While the chain occasionally adds a new milkshake flavour to the drinks menu, over the last 12 years the food offering has remained exactly the same… until now.
This week the burger giant has added a brand new item to its UK food menu, for the first time ever.
Those of you who love Five Guys’ fries are in for a treat, as the new addition is Loaded Fries and just like the rest of the menu, they’re totally customisable.
According to the chain, the new dish sees a ‘generous’ portion of Salted or Cajun fries topped with hot cheese sauce and a secret fry sauce, then loaded up with up to 14 toppings of your choice.
This could include onions, bacon, pickles, jalapeños, tomatoes or grilled mushrooms and the combinations are pretty much endless. In fact, Five Guys claims there are more than ‘131,000 possible combinations’ you can make.
Some fans have already tried out a few of the different options, hailing them as ‘elite’, ‘10/10’, ‘genius’ and ‘yummy’ in posts on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
Similarly, Five Guys themselves proclaimed the new menu item as ‘legendary’ and an ‘instant hit’.
The chain’s UK CEO, John Eckbert, added: ‘Loaded Fries mark a historic moment for Five Guys as our first-ever food menu addition.
‘We believe they’ll be an instant hit and a go-to choice for fans across the UK.’
The new loaded fries are available for dine-in and takeaway in Five Guys restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales now (excluding Heathrow Terminal 5).
Five Guys was first established in Virginia in the US in 1986 by the Murrell family and headed across the pond in 2013, launching its first site in Covent Garden.
As well as serving burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese and fries, milkshakes are one of the most popular menu items and there are over 1,000 possible ways to order the drink, adding various toppings.
