AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)- Fort Gordon is celebrating Independence Day a day early on Barton field.
There will be food vendors, including some new ones, a kiddie carnival and other attractions.
There will be LIVE entertainment from local artists ‘Ryan Abel and Friends’ and ‘Two Story Road’.
And of course, the event wouldn’t be complete without the big fireworks show.
Fort Gordon’s special events coordinator shared with me why this event means so much to everyone.
“The community has supported this event for years. We love to celebrate with the off post crowd as well as our military community, and I just think that it’s a great, safe event for families. I know people like to come out to the fort for the event every year. People have been coming for years. We see the same families for years and they come celebrate with us and we’re really happy to share the event with them,” said Danielle Hayes.
Admission is FREE. If you’re 18 or older you must present your ID. The gates open at 5pm.
