Narrowing down the supplements you want to take on a daily basis can be a tall task. This especially stands true when it comes to your overall approach to health and where your primary focus lies. While there’s not one “do-it-all” type of supplement, Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, D.O., recently joined Andrew Huberman on the Huberman Lab podcast to discuss a broad range of subjects.
At one point, Lyon laid out a detailed breakdown of the impacts of a few specific supplements she takes. The conversation began with Huberman highlighting creatine as one that he takes daily (5-10mg) due to its positive impacts on muscle strength and brain benefits.

Lyon, who’s dubbed as the “founder of muscle-centric medicine,” agreed with Huberman about creatine being a primary go-to option for supplements. She also discussed a few other interesting additions, including whey protein, a very easy-to-find supplement that can be added daily.
Lyon also went on to rave about the supplement Urolithin A and the tremendous benefits that can come from that.
“Creatine, for sure,” Lyon said. “The other supplement is Urolithin A…Urolithin A is a gut muscle connection. Individuals [who] take Urolithin A, there are many papers out there that [state] it improves myopathy…There are trials in human individuals that [Urolithine A] increases strength and endurance.”
While adding Urolithin A alongside creatine and whey protein, she rounded out the list with a fourth supplement—collagen, a group which she called the “perfect” supplement if it could be made into one.
“If I could make one supplement, I would probably make a mix of Urolithin A with creatine and some whey protein—and maybe 25mg of Collagen, and I would have my perfect supplement,” Lyon said.
