There will be five stages with film premieres, questions and answers with directors, conversations about cinema and podcasts recorded live. The Tribeca Festival Lisboa starts this Wednesday and offers a complete agenda for film lovers in the Portuguese capital.
After opening with the red carpet and the opening ceremonies, the film “In the Hand of Dante” will be the first to be shownfollowed by a moment of questions and answers with the director Julian Schnabel. This feature film is inspired by the “Divine Comedy”, a classic of Italian literature written by Dante Alighieri (1265-1321), and features a cast with well-known names such as Oscar Isaac, Gal Gadot, John Malkovich and musician Benjamin Clementine. The action takes place in New York, when a manuscript for “Divine Comedy” falls into the hands of a Mafia boss.
From Thursday onwards, they will be shown six films per day, divided between The Chapel and The Theater stageswith the exception of Friday, which will feature five films and one series. On the 30th, the premiere of “Bugonia”, the new project by Yorgos Lanthimos with Emma Stone. This partnership has already produced several films, including the controversial “Poor Creatures”nominated for ten and winning in four categories at last year’s Oscars, and “Stories of Kindness”which competed for best film at the Cannes and Sydney festivals. On the same day, the Brazilian documentary “Ritas” tells the life of Rita Leelegend of Brazilian popular music who died in 2023, through the narration of the singer herself, who remembers the main moments of his career in music.
