Four Roses Distillery has announced the arrival of its 2025 Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon, the 18th entry in its famed annual series. Scheduled for release on September 3rd, the edition continues a tradition of showcasing the complexity of Four Roses’ ten distinct bourbon recipes through careful selection and blending.
This year’s expression, bottled non-chill filtered at 109 proof, combines four hand-selected batches aged between 13 and 19 years: a 13-year-old OBSV, 13-year-old OBSK, 13-year-old OESV, and a 19-year-old OESV. The result, according to Master Distiller Brent Elliott, is both round and complex, highlighting the distillery’s signature fruit-forward style.
Four Roses 2025 Small Batch: A Blend of Patience and Precision
“When blending this year’s release, I was drawn to the 13-year-old V batches that showcase delicate fruit and sweet barrel tones,” said Elliott. “Although these barrels can really shine on their own, the OBSK brought in a complexity that I think people will really enjoy. The addition of the 19-year-old OBSV also adds another layer of depth and aged character that rounds out the blend beautifully.”
On the nose, the 2025 Limited Edition Small Batch opens with apricot, vanilla, caramel, black tea leaves, rye spice, and mellow oak. The palate offers layers of apricot, citrus zest, crème brûlée, and antique spiced oak, before settling into a soft, lingering finish that emphasizes sweetness and depth.
Availability and Bottle Lottery
As in previous years, availability will be tightly limited. Four Roses plans to release approximately 16,854 bottles at a suggested retail price of $249. Nationwide distribution will be supplemented by the distillery’s annual bottle lottery, which runs from August 19 to 24. Winners will be chosen on August 29 and given the opportunity to purchase their bottle at the Four Roses Visitor Center in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, this September.
For those visiting the distillery, a pour of the bourbon will also be available at Bar 1888, the on-site cocktail bar, while supplies last.
