Kaizer Chiefs have released a total of 10 players since the beginning of the year. Ironically, the club also brought in 10 new players last season, but most of them did not meet expectations.
As a result, the Glamour Boys finished a disappointing ninth in the league, although they did secure the Nedbank Cup, which served as a consolation.
Now, entering his second season, coach Nasreddine Nabi is overseeing a busy transfer period for Kaizer Chiefs, with six players already signed. Given this activity, let’s take a look at some of the players the club has released this year.
Kaizer Chiefs sold two players in January
Amakhosi sold Thatayaone Ditlhokwe to a Sudanese club while Christian Saile was exchanged for Tashreeq Morris.
Ditlhokwe had just earned himself a place in the starting eleven before he was sold, forcing Nabi to play players out of position. Saile, on the other hand, flopped at Chiefs, and he was always going to face the door.
Eight more players left Kaizer Chiefs after the season
Between May and July, Amakhosi parted ways with the Soweto giants. Here is a full list of the players released by Amakhosi in 2025:
Thatayaone Ditlhokwe
Christian Saile
Njabulo Blom
Sabelo Radebe
Ranga Chivaviro
Edmilson Dove
Mduduzi Mdantsane
Bongani Sam
Yusuf Maart
Edson Castillo
Kaizer Chiefs have brought in six new players
With 10 players gone, Amakhosi have found replacements. So far, the club have signed Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva, Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane and Siphesihle Ndlovu. The team is currently in the Netherlands for their pre-season training.
