Those taking a stroll on the National Mall this morning were met with a giant ten-foot-tall replica of Donald Trump’s ‘birthday message’ to Jeffrey Epstein.
Paedophile sex offender Epstein was born on January 20, and hours before what would have been his 73rd birthday, a large replica of one of his birthday cards was erected.
Placed by a group known as ‘The Secret Handshake’, the replica shows a letter which includes Trump’s signature as well as text inside the outline of a naked woman.
Trump has denied writing the note, which appears to show the outline of a young woman’s body and has worrying messages written on it.
‘We have certain things in common, Jeffrey… a pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret.’
The message appears to show Donald Trump’s signature, along with his name, and sparked furore when it first surfaced last year.
‘As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,’ White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said after it was first reported.
The US President has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes when the pair socialised and any wrongdoing with regard to their previous friendship.
Nonetheless, the card has sparked discussion yet again, and the installation has markers set up by it so passersby can write messages to the Trump administration.
The Secret Handshake said they have permission to keep the installation up until Friday, January 23.
The group previously put up a massive bronze statue showing Trump and Epstein holding hands outside the US Capitol.
‘We celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his ‘closest friend,’ the plaque read.
White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told the Washington Post: ‘Liberals are free to waste their money however they see fit.
‘But it’s not news that Epstein knew Donald Trump, because Donald Trump kicked Epstein out of his club for being a creep.’
Trump and his administration are facing increasing pressure to release all of the material related to Epstein, after it was revealed that just 1% of the files had been released.
Some 12,000 files – photos, notes and legal documents – were released last month, but they represent less than 1% of the material the government has.
Initial estimates believe it could take eight years to review and disclose the remaining files, even with hundreds of attorneys working on the release.
‘While the commitment of Department personnel to this effort has been substantial in breadth and impressive in effort, substantial work remains to be done,’ the Justice Department said.
If that timeline proves to be true, the final files won’t be released until well after Donald Trump’s second term in office is over.
It also breaches the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which required the DOJ to release all unclassified information on Epstein within 30 days.
