US comedian Nikki Glaser hosted the Golden Globes for the second time on Monday, and her jokes went down a storm. From mocking CBS, the network the ceremony aired on, to dropping a new gag about Leonardo DiCaprio’s relationship age-gaps, she also joked that Timothée Chalamet is the ‘first actor in history to have to put on muscle for a movie about ping-pong,’ referencing his winning role in Marty Supreme. However, there were some cheekier lines that didn’t make the cut. Thanks to a new interview on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday, the 41-year-old revealed the list of jokes that were censored before the event. Nikki shared a notes app on her phone called ‘The Stern File,’ which she explained featured ‘all the jokes [she] wanted to say’ but wasn’t allowed to or chose to ditch. Intrigued? Let’s take a look… (Picture: Getty Images)
Sydney Sweeney
The first gag she shared was about actor Sydney Sweeney and her latest role in the film Christy, a sports drama biopic about the rise of former professional boxer Christy Martin in the 1990s. Despite the mass media coverage and promo, the movie reportedly made just $1.3 million when it landed in cinemas in November — making it one of the worst box office openings in history. In terms of the joke, Nikki revealed it went like this: ‘Tonight is a night of celebration but we can’t ignore it’s a weird time in Hollywood. You know, people just aren’t going to the theatres to see things. And if you don’t believe me, there was a movie this year where Sydney Sweeney played a lesbian who just bounced around in tiny shorts for two hours and it made $14.’ Nikki said the reason she cut the joke was that Sydney didn’t attend the Golden Globes. Sean Penn
OK, so Nikki did still roast Sean Penn during the ceremony. One of the lines included: ‘Sean Penn, you’re such an original. Everyone in this town is obsessed with looking younger, meanwhile Sean Penn is like, “What if I slowly morph into a sexy leather handbag?”‘ However, she had also planned to say: ‘Sean Penn is nominated tonight. I’m assuming for “best neck veins,”‘ followed by describing him as ‘the defiant last tree standing in a rainforest.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Sean Penn
Elsewhere, Nikki revealed that comedian David Spade had also pitched a joke about Sean Penn, suggesting that he was ‘taking The Substance wrong.’ This was obviously a reference to the Demi Moore-led 2024 body horror movie of the same name. Additionally, Nikki had wanted to roast both Sean Penn and his One Battle After Another co-stars Benicio del Toro and Leonardo DiCaprio for their famous onscreen ‘squinting’ expression. The comedian shared: ‘Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro and Leonardo DiCaprio are all here tonight for the category Least Eyes.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Leonardo DiCaprio
Again, we know that Leo was roasted during the ceremony. But there was another joke originally in the pipeline for him — based on both the squinting gag and his younger girlfriend reputation. Nikki said: ‘He always looks like he’s squinting. Leo, why are you always squinting? I mean, I assume it’s to read your girlfriend’s ID. Just making sure that the year starts with a 2.’ Burn. Chase Infiniti
Chase Infiniti was nominated for a Golden Globe for her breakthrough role as Willa in One Battle After Another. And with such a unique name, Nikki thought it was the perfect opportunity for a joke. She told Howard that she had planned to say: ‘Chase Infiniti is her real name. And this is true, if you apply now you can earn 5% cash back on all travel booked through her through the end of the year. So, get on that. It’s a great deal.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Julia Roberts
In other celebrity roasting news, Nikki had also wanted to take aim at the icon that is Julia Roberts. However, the 58-year-old, who was nominated for Best Actress for the crime drama After the Hunt, managed to escape a gag about her movie. Nikki shared the joke: ‘Julia Roberts is nominated for After The Hunt. I don’t know what it’s about but I’m assuming the hunt was to find someone who’s seen it.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Jonathan Bailey
Next up is Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, who made headlines last year as People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2025. Of course, this new title was prime roasting material, with Nikki revealing she wanted to say: ‘Jonathan Bailey is the first openly gay man to be named the sexiest man alive by People magazine. At first I was like, “Do we really need to say openly?” And then I looked at the list of past winners and I was like, “Oh yeah, we do.”‘ (Picture: Getty Images)
Jeff Goldblum
Nikki also initially wanted to make a joke about Jeff Goldblum’s long-time role as spokesperson for Apartments.com. She told Howard that she almost said: ‘Jeff Goldblum is here tonight. Not because he’s nominated, just because they were shooting an ad for Apartments.com down the street and he just kind of wandered in.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt had a lucky escape, too. Apparently, he was to be the butt of a joke about how it’s OK for men to age in Hollywood, but the same grace isn’t granted to women. Touching on the 62-year-old’s recent role in the 2025 film F1, where he played a racecar driver, she said: ‘Brad Pitt is nominated for his role in F1 tonight. See, that’s what I love about Hollywood. When a man turns 60, he gets to play a racecar driver. Meanwhile, after 35 every role for a woman is tired mom who hates her life.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
