A limited edition range of Greggs homeware is up for sale, with a themed gamer beanbag chair apparently selling fast.
There is apparently such a dedicated audience for Greggs that the bakery chain has started to branch out with Greggs themed homeware.
Said homeware launched less than a week ago, on September 11, and consists of cushions and beanbags made to resemble Greggs pastries, including sausage rolls and steak pies.
What does this have to do with video games, though? Well, the highlight of the collection is a dedicated bean bag gamer chair, with its big selling point being that it has pockets for stashing away treats.
Unlike the rest of the collection, this chair isn’t made to resemble a pastry, offering a simple blue colour scheme with the Greggs logo printed across it.
Greggs advertises it as having ‘squishy cushioning’, so it moulds to whatever position you find most comfortable and high back support. It’s also water resistant, UV resistant, and light enough to carry around, so it’s suitable for outdoors use too.
Although we’re not really familiar with the concept of owning a sausage roll and not eating it immediately, so the idea of storing it away for later use seems very alien to us.

The bean bag costs £59.95, which for roughly the same amount you could put a pre-order down for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond on Nintendo Switch 2 or 007 First Light on PlayStation 5.

The homeware collection has come about through a collaboration between Greggs and home furniture shop, and capital letter hater, icon. From the sound of it these products will only be available for a limited time.
There’s no mention of when Greggs will stop selling them, but if icon’s website is to be believed, they are selling fast. So, if you’re at all tempted to have a Greggs bean bag or cushion in your home, better buy now before they’re all eaten up by hungry fans.
‘Partnering with Greggs on this idea made perfect sense – two North East icons coming together to create an iconic range for your homes,’ says an icon spokesperson.
‘We’ve always believed comfort should have personality, and this limited-edition collection proves it. … Turning steak bakes and sausage rolls into home comforts? Yes please. That’s exactly the kind of fun we’re here for.’
This isn’t Greggs first foray into video games. It secured a partnership with Sony ahead of the PlayStation 5’s launch to sell limited edition treat boxes for only £5.
It’s yet to do anything as outlandish or ridiculous as some other companies though. Just last year, Pizza Hut released a free accessory that lets you use your PlayStation 5 to heat up cold pizzas.
In 2020, KFC went as far to make its own gaming PC that also doubled as a device for keeping chicken warm.
