Fans are in a frenzy after Harry Styles appeared in an Instagram post arm in arm with Carole Radziwill.
Radziwell is an award-winning journalist also known for appearing on six seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City.
The 31-year-old pop superstar surprised fans on September 1, when Cassandra Grey shared a carousel of photos from the Parisian wedding of Charles Porch and Robert Denning.
Among them: a candid shot of Styles escorting former Real Housewives of New York City star Radziwill up a sweeping staircase.
Cassandra Grey, who is the founder of beauty company Violet Grey, wrote in her caption: ‘I saw @caroleradziwill struggling to get her rather large @giambattistavalliparis dress up the grand stairwell.
‘Then a stranger to Carole and I, a handsome @harrystyles, seemingly out of nowhere graciously lent her his arm like Cinderella’s prince.’
In the photo, Styles looks sleek in a black-and-white suit with a matching polka-dot tie, while Radziwill, 62, clutches the train of her gown as the two make their way up the stairs.
Grey herself described the night as something out of a fairytale: ‘I crashed the nuptials of @charlesporch and @robertdenning in Paris and fell madly in love with their love. I laughed. I cried. I danced. I made new friends. I ate cake. I stayed up all night for three nights. I wore pearls.’
Fans, meanwhile, were quick to seize on the Styles–Radziwill moment.
Instagram user @stvrzharu shrieked in the comments, ‘OMG HARRY HI WHAT ARE U DOING HERE!’ while stylist @elizabethsulcer declared, ‘Major 🙌🙌🙌 harry saves the day!’
User @smithkgregory summed up the general disbelief with, ‘Wait?! Harry Styles!?’ and @lenordavif added simply, ‘Omg Harry! I’m losing my mind!’
The sudden frenzy is understandable given Radziwill’s reputation for dating younger men, though Grey’s post made clear the encounter was platonic.
Radziwill herself has been open about how her approach to love has shifted with age.
Speaking to Us Weekly earlier this year, she admitted she hated dating in her twenties but grew more confident after the death of her husband, Anthony Radziwill, in 1999.
‘It’s just got better and better and better,’ she said of dating later in life. ‘And now it’s, like, rocking! It’s just so fun. I always say I grew up, I just didn’t get old.’
As for Styles, speculation around his romantic life shows no signs of slowing down.
Just days before his Paris cameo, he was spotted with Zoë Kravitz in Rome, sparking rumors that the two are quietly dating.
A fan video posted online captured them walking together in the Italian capital, and soon after, reports surfaced that they were seen ‘snogging like teenagers’ at Rita’s bistro in London following the premiere of Kravitz’s film Caught Stealing.
According to The Sun, the pair ‘seemed really into each other and didn’t seem to care if anyone saw them kissing.’
Neither Styles nor Kravitz has addressed the rumors, but fans have already dubbed them Hollywood’s ‘next big couple.’
In the meantime, Styles has managed to dominate the cultural conversation yet again – this time by doing nothing more than offering an arm on a staircase.
