People have been wondering why Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom split, and while earlier sources have detailed how they grew apart over many months, a new one has shed light on how Orlando “grew tired” of supporting his wife.
After nine years, one kid, and almost two weeks of rampant speculation, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s representatives confirmed their breakup earlier this month.
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” they told Page Six.
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

Okay, so why did Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom split up?
Even before the official announcement from their teams, sources close to Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were revealing how they both sought to reclaim the height of their respective fames. Despite that, the split was seemingly “amicable” as they holidayed together following the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez.
Now, a source has told Star Magazine that their relationship became “borderline toxic” after months of bickering and fighting.
“Katy and Orlando were both so tightly wound,” they said. “They started to bicker, and it got worse and worse over time. It became borderline toxic.”
Specifically, the source zeroed in on the rampant “trolling” she’s been experiencing as of late, from criticism about her Blue Origin space flight to her less-than-spectacular return to touring.

“The trolling she endured during that time was on another level, and that pressure bled into her home life with Orlando,” the source added. “Katy’s strong but she was very rattled by the criticism.”
Though you might assume that Katy leant on her husband during those trying months, the source detailed how he “grew tired” of supporting her: “He was sympathetic to a point.”
“It reached the point where Katy and Orlando were living separate lives and going for large chunks of time without communicating because the tension was so palpable,” they added.
