Heavy Rain in Five Districts of Portugal – Bundlezy

Heavy Rain in Five Districts of Portugal

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) raised the meteorological warning in force this Saturday, October 25th, due to the forecast of heavy rain to orange in five districts.

Aveiro, Coimbra, Guarda, Leiria and Viseu are now under orange warning, the intermediate one on a scale of three, until 3pm this Saturday, a period during which “strong and persistent precipitation” is forecast.

The districts of Castelo Branco, Lisbon, Portalegre and Santarém remain under yellow warning, the least serious, until 3pm, due to heavy rain, while in Porto this alert ended at 12pm.

The weather in mainland Portugal, especially the northern and central regions, is being affected by the effects of the Benjamin Depression.

For this Saturday, the IPMA predicts very cloudy or overcast skies, with precipitation that is sometimes heavy and persistent in the North and Center regions, with light rainfall in Baixo Alentejo and the Algarve.

It also points to a small drop in maximum temperatures in the North, Center and Algarve.

On Sunday, weather conditions are expected to ease in the northern and central regions, but with the frontal system moving south, where precipitation may be temporarily more intense until the early afternoon.
