Héctor “N” agreed to participate in the David Cohen case for money

Héctor “N” told his lawyer that he agreed to participate in the murder of David Cohen in exchange for 30 thousand pesos that he did not receive, due to the economic precariousness he lived with his mother.

Mexico City, October 18 (However).- Luis Alberto Hernandezdefender of Hector “N”18 years old, who yesterday was linked to proceedings for participating in the murder of the lawyer David Cohenrevealed that the young man lived in a situation, which would have led him to agree to get involved in the crime without having knowledge of it.

“Your mother shows me some messages that I hope in due course she can show you where she says ‘Mom, we only have 200 pesos left, we don’t have anything to eat‘”, revealed Luis Alberto Hernández, legal defense of Héctor Hernández, before the media.

After leaving the hearing in which the young man was linked to the process, the litigant recounted the economic precariousness of his client, a situation that would have led him to receive, on repeated occasions, money from the people who involved him in the murder of David Cohen, among them, a person whom he identified as Erik, who promised him 30 thousand pesos for his participation, an amount that he never received.

In this sense, Luis Alberto Hernández emphasized that the 18-year-old young man did not know what would happen on October 13 in the Judicial City of Mexico City (CdMx), since the people who implicated him in the case told him that it was only about “collecting money and giving a person a scare.”

According to the lawyer’s story, the people who gave him the firearm that he carried that day also explained to him how to maneuver it and what he had to do later, but Héctor “N” did not activate the device out of fear, because when he heard the detonations that injured David Cohen he ran until he was shot in the arm by an agent of the Investigative Police.

Luis Alberto Hernández also reported that his client burst into tears when he heard in his voice the words that his mother transmitted to him in the context of his hearing.

“I love you very much, you have my support; I do not approve of what is happening, accept your responsibility,” said Héctor “N’s” mother.

“He is a boy who turned 18 in January, a boy with no experience who at this moment threw his life away,” added the defense lawyer, who also pointed out that his client told the subjects who involved him that he was 17 years old, despite being of legal age. “These people who hooked him always knew he was 17 years old,” he said.

Yesterday, Héctor “N” was linked to proceedings in an initial hearing for compliance with an arrest warrant, while a Judge granted three months to the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJ-CdMx) to close the complementary investigation.

On October 16, the head of the FGJ-CdMx, Bertha Alcalde Luján, recalled that the murder of David Cohen occurred as part of a “targeted attack” in which two people with firearms aboard a motorcycle participated, who shot at the lawyer when he was walking in the Doctores neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office, causing the victim to be injured in the groin and in the back. skull.

The capital’s prosecutor also reiterated that there is a line of investigation into the “intellectual authorship” of the murder, so the authorities will investigate the cases carried out by the litigant.

“It is very important that this part of the investigation remains secret, but we can say that we are going to be very exhaustive in relation to the investigation. This implies that we can analyze what cases this lawyer was handling,” he said.

In addition to the arrest of Héctor “N”, the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC-CdMx) announced, on October 15, the arrest of Donovan “N”, a second man allegedly involved in the murder of the lawyer.
