There’s a rhythm to Hermès that has nothing to do with fashion week calendars or equestrian roots. It’s quieter, stranger, a pulse you catch only if you hold one of their objects in your hand long enough. The Hermès H08 watch, first introduced as a kind of geometric meditation on timekeeping, has always been that sort of object — half sport, half sculpture. Now, the maison expands the collection with two new titanium variations, each one rethinking the balance of lightness, precision, and form.
A Cushion-Shaped Experiment in Time
Since the range first debuted in 2021, the H08 has always been a paradox: a cushion-shaped case that feels neither round nor square, surfaces that swing between satin-brushed, sunburst, and mirror-polished. It is, in other words, Hermès asking what a men’s sports watch could look like when passed through its own design language. The new titanium editions sharpen that question. Both measure 42 mm across, with cases cut from robust, lightweight titanium, water-resistant to 100 meters (328 feet), and powered by the in-house Hermès Manufacture H1837 movement, a Swiss-built automatic caliber with a 50-hour power reserve.
Two Variations, Infinite Attitudes
The first of the new references plays in monochrome. Its dial, in light titanium grey, is animated by luminescent Arabic numerals and a single, orange-tipped seconds hand. Three strap options let the wearer tune the mood: black, bleu abysse, or vivid orange rubber, plus a more restrained woven textile in black or blue. The effect is utilitarian yet playful — as if Hermès wanted to remind us that sport, too, is a kind of luxury.
The second edition introduces bleu Saint-Cyr numerals, giving the dial a kind of kinetic energy against its grained grey backdrop. Here, the bezel shifts to black ceramic, alternating between satin-brushed and polished surfaces. The matching straps, in dark grey or Saint-Cyr blue, lend the piece a cooler, more technical presence.
Precision Beneath the Surface
Inside both watches, the Hermès H1837 movement ticks away at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Look closely, and you see the maison’s wit woven into the mechanics — circular graining, snailed plates, and a rotor etched with a spritz of Hs. The date window, placed unexpectedly at 4:30, hints at Hermès’ refusal to play by Swiss orthodoxy alone.
The Spirit of H08
More than objects of function, the Hermès H08 Titanium editions belong to the brand’s wider philosophy: time not as something counted, but as something inhabited. Light on the wrist, bold in design, they extend the collection’s mission — anchoring moments in material, while gesturing, always, toward infinity.
Price and Availability
The new Hermès H08 watches are priced at $7,200 (titanium on titanium bracelet), and $7,600 (Saint-Cyr on rubber strap). They are available via the Hermes official website.
