Hobby Lobby’s $17 Acacia Wood Cutting Board is Eerily Similar to a Williams Sonoma Style That’s Over 7x the Price

Hobby Lobby has been really hitting the mark when it comes to offering dupes of high-end kitchen and home goods. Whether it’s a set of mixing bowls, a charcuterie board, a spoon rest, mini pie dishes, spice jars, a gold metal colander or an egg storage container, they have options that are a fraction of the price of some other retailers.

This week’s copycat item is a sleek and modern Checkered Acacia Wood Cutting Board that is a serious showstopper in the kitchen. It’s a thick solid wood board that’s both functional and stylish, so you can use it to chop vegetables like a pro or display appetizers if that’s your thing.

It’s so similar to a Williams Sonoma style that is also gorgeous, but over 7-times the price. Their Endgrain Acacia Board has the same checkered pattern with slightly richer color, at least from the photographs, and is a bit larger, but its shape and style are very similar to the Hobby Lobby version. The 18 x 12-inch Williams Sonoma piece retails for $99.95, while the Hobby Lobby board retails for just $16.99.

The Checkered Acacia Wood Cutting Board from Hobby Lobby has a glossy wood-grain finish and measures 14 x 10-inches, the perfect size to easily store, while still being incredibly functional. It’s recommended you hand wash only, as is the case with any wood board.

Customers are mostly very satisfied with their board purchase. “Bought the large only to set on the countertop for display. Chose one in-store to ensure less imperfection in the wood. Heavy, substantial and a show piece for sure!”, exclaimed one person. “Very pretty board just like the picture, nice size and I love how chunky it is without being heavy”, said another fan.

Another individual commented that they struggled with getting oil marks out of their board, stating “pretty, but immediately stained by oil and scratches”. It could just be a discrepancy in how it was cleaned and maintained. Acacia wood boards will succumb to knife marks, but if cleaned by scrubbing with half a lemon and salt, the quality should remain.

It appears the board is available in-store and online, and would make a perfect board for holiday menu prep or showing off a spread of meats, cheeses, vegetables, dried and fresh fruits, olives, pickles, nuts, seeds, snack mixes, dips, toasts and jams as a snack platter.

It’s sleek enough to keep right on your countertop as part of your kitchen decor, or used to show off a variety of canisters and jars filled with ingredients. However you want to use it, this board is going to look great and be a talking point at any hosted event.
