She’s been keeping a low profile for months, but now Holly Willoughby is said to be preparing for a huge TV comeback.

The former This Morning host, 44, was once a regular face on British television, whether she was fronting the hugely popular ITV daytime show or entertaining our Sunday evenings with Dancing On Ice.

Her latest gigs have included You Bet! with Stephen Mulhern, which she quit in March, and Celebrity Bear Hunt with Bear Grylls, which was made by streaming giant Netflix.

However, with Dancing On Ice now axed and Celeb Bear Hunt also scrapped after just one season, Holly has been left without a hosting role for the first time in over 20 years.

But not for long, if the rumours are to be believed, as reports claim she’s itching to get back to what she loves.

The presenter originally dipped out of showbiz to prioritise her family after a terrifying plot to kidnap and murder her was uncovered. This led to Gavin Plumb, 36, being arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 16 years.

Now, it’s been said she and husband Dan Baldwin, whom she married in 2007, have been working together to arrange her return to screens.

Dan is a thriving TV producer who met Holly in 2004. As well as building a life with his famous partner and sharing three children—Harry, 16, Belle, 14, and Chester, 10—Dan has established the company Hungry Bear Media, which is behind Gladiators.

It’s said that Holly’s time out of the limelight has created ‘tension’ in their almost two-decade marriage; hence, she’s hoping to flourish in a very new space from the one she first found fame in when she does stage a comeback.

According to The Sun, Holly is eyeing up primetime for her hotly anticipated return, ditching daytime altogether, as she and Dan are ‘both committed’ to making her the biggest name in TV.

An insider said: ‘She and Dan both know she has what it takes to go solo in a primetime evening slot, and they plan to make her the biggest female presenter in the UK again.

‘Together, they are a force to be reckoned with.’

However, Holly is still determined to be ‘independently successful’, keen to ‘surprise’ people who thought her career was over.

‘Plans are in early stages,’ added the source. ‘But they are quietly sounding out friends from the TV, film and music industry to get them on board for a potential new primetime show fronted by Holly.’

They also shared that Holly is ready to fly solo after working as part of a double act for so long.

Her biggest shows have always included two presenters, from her former friendship with Phillip Schofield on This Morning to her companionship with Stephen on Dancing On Ice. Holly even stood in for Ant McPartlin for one series of I’m A Celebrity, alongside Declan Donnelly.

But in stark contrast, she’s now looking to compete with the likes of Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross and perhaps bag her own chat show.

‘The idea is to do an evening show rather than daytime, and Holly would like to front it on her own but have other celebrities on and interview them,’ added the source, hinting that Holly wants to put her own spin on a tried and tested format.

‘Holly knows her worth, and she wants the best time slot and the best guests.

‘She’s 45 next year, and she’s at a time in her life when she is ready to go solo without a co-host by her side—and she sees this as the way to do it.’

But fans of Holly’s needn’t worry that she’s been twiddling her thumbs for the whole year, as she’s still comfortably raking it in with her other ventures.

Away from cameras, the former ITV Golden Girl runs a wellness brand called Wylde Moon. It is said to be worth a very impressive £10million.

Holly also has plenty of other brand partnerships keeping her busy, such as her deals with Marks & Spencer and Garnier.

She’s been more active on social media in 2025, too, showcasing her festival fashion over summer and documenting her holidays with celebrity pals.

Reps for Holly Willoughby have been contacted for comment.
