Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (August 26) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm.
Grace Black (Tamara Wall) broke down in tears in emotional scenes as she told sister Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) that their father Fraser had raped her when she was a teenager.
As viewers know, Grace has been attempting to recall her past after Clare informed her that she had another child when she was younger – something which Grace struggled to remember.
She attended therapy in the hopes of unlocking these memories.
Froggy (John Middleton), meanwhile, unexpectedly arrived in the village on day release from prison, determined to spend time with his family, much to the horror of Clare, who reiterated that she wants nothing to do with him.
Grace, however, overruled her sister, deciding to give their grandfather a chance to prove himself, offering him a place to stay when he’s released properly.
This horrified Clare.
With Tori set to perform a track at the Hollyoaks In Bloom event, Clare and Grace headed to the village with Froggy for the performance.
As Tori played on a piano, Grace was overcome with fear and terror, with the melody having seemingly unlocked a memory from her childhood.
When Clare reached over to her sister to see if she was okay, Grace let out a scream and raced back to the flat, where she broke down in tears.
Clare returned home with Froggy in tow, determined to find out what was wrong.
Grace spoke through tears as she recalled how Clare used to play that very melody when she was little – a melody which Fraser would call ‘beautiful’.
‘And he used to say I was the most beautiful girl in the world,’ said Grace, ‘right before he did disgusting things to me’.
Clare broke down and hugged a devastated Grace, who confirmed that she had been raped by Fraser.
