HayRay fans are set for more heartbreak as Hollyoaks has confirmed that Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) will confess that he’s got feelings for boyfriend Lucas Hay’s (Oscar Curtis) dad Ste (Kieron Richardson).
Popular couple Lucas and Dillon just can’t seem to catch a break with both characters having been through so much in the course of the past year – particularly the last few months.
Lucas, who bravely came out last year with help from Dillon, was diagnosed with a brain tumour and it was touch and go after surgery but, much to dad Ste’s delight, he pulled through.
Dillon, meanwhile, was exploited by Grace Black (Tamara Wall) and Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) all the while fighting a drug addiction.
Lucas has been determined to be there for one true love Dillon, who hasn’t been coping in the wake of his ordeal and earlier this month he cheated on his beau once again, leaving Lucas devastated.
Dillon, who fathered baby James with Lucas’ sister Leah last year, apologised for what he did, opening up about his exploitation ordeal and the impact his addiction has had on him.
In emotional scenes, Lucas forgave him and the couple decided to give their romance another go. However – less than three weeks since their reunion – it’s been confirmed that more complications will arise, with Dillon set to tell Ste that he’s falling for him!
The question is: just what will Ste have to say?
The chef, as viewers know, has been supporting Dillon through his recovery and became his sponsor just weeks ago.

He’s also keeping quiet about the fact that Lucas has attacked him on numerous occasions – with the show exploring child-to-parent abuse – so Dillon’s confession really couldn’t come at a worse time.
Is this the end for HayRay? The duo have had their fair share of heartbreak and always managed to get back together but will this one be a step too far?

Lucas will likely be devastated to hear of Dillon’s admission, especially since he worried last month that Dillon didn’t want to be with him anymore.
We’ll just have to wait and see what happens but it’s safe to assume that conflict will be aplenty.
