Days after announcing her pregnancy, former Hollyoaks star Roxanne McKee has dropped another bombshell by announcing her engagement.

In a romantic video shared to her Instagram story, Roxanne, while showing off a beautiful, sparkling diamond ring on her finger, revealed that she’d had a ‘crush’ on her previously unseen partner since she was 13 and was elated that he’d ‘finally proposed’.

Roxanne shared her excited news after revealing on her Instagram that she’s expecting a baby, revealing her loving partner to the world for the first time in the process.

She was flooded with sweet comments from former co-stars.

Fellow Hollyoaks legend Claire Cooper, known best to fans as feisty and fiery Jacqui McQueen, commented: ‘I AM so crazy happy about this news … this is just GLORIOUS’.

Roxanne is best known to soap fans as troubled Louise Summers. Her initial storyline saw her battle Lisa Hunter (Gemma Atkinson) over the affections of Ben Davies (Marcus Patrick), before becoming embroiled in the show’s ground-breaking date rape plot when she’s spiked by serial rapist Andy Holt (Warren Brown).

Louise soon found herself torn between her dodgy ex-husband Sean Kennedy (Matthew Jay Lewis), future Hollyoaks gangland mainstay Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and, later, good-natured police officer Calvin Valentine (Ricky Whittle) which ended with Sean buried in the woods and Louise pregnant and not knowing whether Warren and Calvin were the father.

She later became a suspect in the popular whodunnit ‘who pushed Clare?’ and later, in the midst of another love triangle with Warren and Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn), exited the soap when Warren killed her on their wedding day.

Speaking on her exit at the time, Roxanne said: ‘I’ve known for over a year that I’ve wanted to leave, so I went to the writers last year to let them know that I wouldn’t be signing another contract and asked for a nice exit at the same time. It ended up that they’ve given me a fantastic exit!

‘I originally asked for Louise to commit suicide because I thought that would have been a good exit for her after everything she’s been through. But it turned out that I got an even better exit!’

Roxanne sought to undertake a variety of roles following her exit, saying at the time: ‘when you come out of a soap opera people see you in a different light and since Hollyoaks I have consciously tried to pick roles that are challenging and different’.

She went on to star in the music video ‘She’s Like a Star’ by Taio Cruz and later played Lou Foster in Lip Service before becoming known internationally for her role in Game of Thrones, which quickly became a global mega hit.

Starring as Doreah, she acted as a close confidant to Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) before betraying her and ultimately meeting a grisly end by being left to suffocate in a sealed vault.

Following Game of Thrones, Roxanne has starred in a number of films including Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, Vendetta and, most recently, a horror spin on the Disney classic Bambi, titled Bambi: The Reckoning.

As for the show that launched Roxanne’s career, Hollyoaks is currently gearing up for a celebratory few months as it rapidly approaches its 30th birthday.

The show is giving one lucky fan the chance to add to its almighty death count by having a role on the show as another victim of serial killer Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield).

Although little is known thus far regarding the full scope of Hollyoaks plans for it’s anniversary month with bosses keeping tight lipped, even with the cast. Kieron Richardson (Ste Hay) recently told Metro: ‘There’s been a huge rumour going round the building of what is actually happening on the 30th.

‘I’ve done a lot of these interviews and I’ve probably lied to you in the past going “We don’t know what’s happening in the future!”, but I promise you, hand on heart, we genuinely do not know what’s happening for the 30th.

‘There have been some rumours and I would say if this rumour is true it will be the most epic viewing the audience would ever have watching episodes of Hollyoaks. Epic!’
