The world’s biggest sporting event is heading back to the United States, and fans can get an early head start this week if they wish to attend.
For the third time in its history, Los Angeles will host the Summer Olympics in 2028. The Games will be held in the United States for the first time since Atlanta 1996, and many of the world’s top athletes will compete for their country.
Events will take place at state-of-the-art venues around Los Angeles, including the new home of the LA Clippers, the Intuit Dome. The swimming portion of the Olympics will be held in SoFi Stadium – the home of the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams.
Wednesday marks a major milestone for the 2028 Olympics, as fans are now able to sign up for the first ticket draw to secure their seats.

Registering For Olympic Tickets in LA
The initial registration period for draw one begins Wednesday and will last through March 18. Fans can visit the official website for the 2028 Games, where they’ll be prompted to register and create a profile. No payment information is required at this point in the process.
Between March 31 and April 7, those selected for the right to purchase tickets will be notified of their time slot. During that established time slot, fans will be provided with the ability to buy tickets at face value. Those who are lucky enough to get a slot to buy tickets will be informed of their time with at least 48 hours of notice.
Residents of the eight host counties in California (and Oklahoma) will also be eligible for the early-access presale portion of the Olympic ticketing process, which runs from April 2 through April 6.
Olympic Excitement Comes Early
Organizers say tickets will start at $28, and that “every discipline and session will be on sale.” Fans will be restricted to a limit of 12 tickets to the Games, so those who want to attend multiple events will need to prioritize what they want to see.
The 2028 Olympic Games will include 36 sports and 51 disciplines, and the competition will be held across 49 venues in 18 different zones. Organizers say they will be the “biggest Games ever,” with new sports like flag football and squash joining timeless classics like basketball and track and field.
The anticipation for the 2028 Olympics is palpable, but fans will have the opportunity to cheer on their countries during the Winter Olympics in Milan this year. The Winter Games are set to begin with the opening ceremony on Friday, February 6, and they’ll conclude with the closing ceremony on Sunday, February 22.
