
The Carabao Cup second round is here as several Premier League sides enter the competition.
Newcastle United are the tournament’s defending champions after their historic triumph against Liverpool, and Eddie Howe’s side will not feature until the third round.
Several top-flight clubs, including Manchester United, are set to feature in the second round, though, as they plot their respective routes to the final at Wembley.
Ruben Amorim’s side face a trip to take on League Two’s Grimsby Town on Wednesday, while two all-Premier League ties see Wolves take on West Ham United and Bournemouth face Brentford.

How to watch the Carabao Cup on TV

Fans can tune in to every game of the Carabao Cup second round on Sky Sports.
Both Tuesday and Wednesday will see one match aired on Sky Sports Football, with the rest of the games available to watch on Sky Sports +
Sky Sports+ is completely free for all subscribers and can be found on channel 404.
United’s clash with Grimsby on Wednesday will also be shown on free-to-air TV via ITV 1.

Is extra-time in use in the Carabao Cup?

Second-round matches in the Carabao Cup will not go to extra-time, with games heading straight to penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes.
Extra-time does return for the semi-finals and final, though.
When is the Carabao Cup third round draw?
The draw will be held in the evening of Wednesday 27 August, although an exact time is yet to be confirmed.
The second-round draw was held at around 7.20pm before the evening’s slate of fixtures.
The draw will be broadcast by Sky Sports.
