The Human Appeal organization said, “Sudan is facing one of the most complex and harsh humanitarian crises in its modern history, amid an unprecedented scarcity of humanitarian work and a decline in the international community’s ability to respond to the disaster,” stressing that it continues to strengthen its field presence and intensify its efforts to provide a lifeline to millions of affected Sudanese.
The British organization added in a statement to Al Jazeera Net that more than 25 million Sudanese are facing severe food insecurity, at a time when millions of families are approaching the brink of famine.

She confirmed that large areas of Sudan are witnessing a severe humanitarian vacuum, as a result of the deterioration of security, the extension of the armed conflict, and the difficulty of relief workers reaching the affected sites. Administrative restrictions, the disruption of official institutions, and the destruction of infrastructure have also disrupted the arrival of vital supplies and increased their cost, in light of a financing gap that is considered one of the largest in the world compared to the doubled size of the need.
Human Appeal indicated that the exacerbation of mass displacement, the frequent interruption of communications, and the disruption of supply chains have contributed to the complexity of the scene, and made the delivery of aid an extremely difficult task that requires entities capable of continuous work in the field despite the challenges.
It stressed that it continues to implement large relief operations in multiple states, relying on specialized field teams that work daily in the most difficult circumstances to reach the most affected families.
Emergency fund
Human Appeal also announced the launch of the Sudan Emergency Fund, in an urgent step aimed at helping millions of civilians affected by the ongoing conflict in Sudan for the third year in a row, amid the worsening humanitarian conditions and the almost complete collapse of the health sector.
The fund aims to provide basic assistance that includes food parcels, potable water, medical care, and shelter supplies, in addition to basic necessities such as blankets, cooking utensils, and personal supplies for women and girls.
The Fund also seeks to support those affected by natural disasters such as floods, in addition to providing treatment through mobile and fixed clinics, and cooperating with dialysis centers to alleviate the suffering of thousands of kidney patients in the states of Gezira and River Nile.
Human Appeal emphasized that the continuation of these interventions depends on the solidarity of the international community and supporters, and that the humanitarian duty today is more urgent than ever before to save what can be saved, protect innocent lives, and support the resilience of war-weary societies.
The human suffering in Sudan is exacerbated by the continuation of a bloody war between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces since April 2023, which has led to the deaths of tens of thousands and the displacement of about 13 million people.
