The above, since the guidelines for the nomination of candidates of the IECM 2023-2024, oblige political parties to nominate at least one sexual diversity formula for relative majority deputies and at least one formula for proportional representation and another for councils of one of the priority attention groups, among them, sexual diversity.

During the forum, the electoral counselor Sonia Perez He pointed out that it is necessary for affirmative actions to be reflected in the Law and for political parties to see them mandatory, so that if they do not comply there are sanctions.
“Political parties, which are the ones who make the nominations, also have to implement all these measures from internal processes,” he said.
With the aim of reaching a greater number of people, the Institute enabled a questionnaire available virtually on the IECM Affirmative Actions microsite: October 18 to November 23, 2025.
