Mexico City.- In the prelude to the festivities of Day of the Dead, the Treasury Room National Palace This October 31st dawned different. Three catrinas, elegant and silent, stole the glances of reporters, officials and even the president herself Claudia Sheinbaum.

The first, in a black and red dress, wore a hat decorated with scarlet flowers; The other two were dressed in black, with flower embroidery, a reboso, a fan and a marigold headdress that gave off a faint but unmistakable aroma.

Before starting the conference, the president and her guests did not miss the opportunity to take a photo with them, in a gesture of respect and celebration of the Mexican tradition that honors those who have left. It was a brief moment, but one of color and symbolism, that broke the sobriety of the morning routine.

Already in an institutional tone, Sheinbaum gave way to the intervention of Mirna Beatriz de la Cruz Álvarez, athlete and leader of the México Imparable project, who invited participants to participate in the second chapter of the “Raíces de Juego” race, to be held on December 7 in Mexico City, with a 21-kilometer route that will begin and end in the capital’s Zócalo. The President took the opportunity to announce that, together with Mirna and the Rarámuri ultramarathon runner Lorena Ramírez, the “Mexico Unstoppable Community High Performance Centers” will be created in different states of the country, as part of the promotion of young athletes.

Between decree and declarations, Sheinbaum He also clarified that “Simon Levy was the one who invented” his own arrest, and that his government “does not lie or invent stories.” Laughing, he settled the issue by remembering that “it was even recorded in a restaurant in Portugal.”
