Infantino after his meeting with President Al-Sharaa: Football is capable of giving hope sports

FIFA President Gianni Infantino held a meeting with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, yesterday, Tuesday, in the presence of Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, on the sidelines of the ninth Future Investment Initiative conference in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Infantino wrote on his Instagram account, “I sat with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa to discuss the role that football can play in giving hope and uplifting societies.”

The FIFA President added, “I appreciate hearing his vision, and we agreed to continue our dialogue to find the best ways to cooperate for the benefit of all Syrians: girls and boys, women and men.”

Infantino stressed that Syria is a football-loving nation, and I look forward to seeing it fully embrace the game at all levels.

In the same context, Infantino spoke earlier Tuesday at the ninth Future Investment Initiative conference.

He wrote on his Instagram page, “We share with all the participants in the symposium the feeling that football is a magical tool that makes you smile instantly and brings people and communities closer together.”
