Wardrobe malfunctions are constantly going viral, but while most seem to be accidental nip slips or torn dresses here and there, this Australian influencer was nearly decapitated by her own outfit.
Eli Moulton, who is an influencer and owner of a dress hire business, recently went viral when she shared the horrific consequences of being drop-dead gorgeous. They say that beauty is pain, but I don’t think this is quite what the original quoter had in mind.
This cautionary tale happened at the grand opening of a BMW dealership in Glenelg, Adelaide, when Eli sported a sheer black dress that came equipped with a long train scarf. While the scarf undoubtedly looked gorg flowing in the wind, it led to her downfall.

While journeying home from the event, Eli’s scarf got caught below the car and quite literally dragged her. She was treated for severe friction burns after being rushed to the hospital, sharing the consequences in an Instagram post with the caption: “A reminder for the ladies.
“REMOVE your neck scarves before entering or operating any heavy machinery! Nearly decapitated myself getting the scarf tangled underneath the car on the way home.”
Reacting to the injury, one person wrote: “Eli! That is frightening. Looks sore too. Hope you are ok.”

“Fashion is a dangerous business. You poor love,” another wrote, as a third added, “This could only happen to you, El. But faarrrrkkkkk you are lucky it wasn’t any worse. I hope you feel better soon, and it’s not too painful.”

Eli Moulton’s original post was picked up by just about every media outlet, and she later asked people to be kind when commenting on the story.
She wrote: “When you know you’ve made it.
“No, but all jokes aside, I share things on my social media for my followers who choose to follow me and my life – not for it to be picked up and reshared by any media outlets. I completely understand it’s a part of being open on social media – but just a reminder to please be kind when commenting about people you don’t know on these outlets.”
