International newspapers: America’s absolute support for Israel has emptied Trump’s plan of its content policy

International newspapers and websites followed in reports and analyzes the developments in the Gaza Strip after the ceasefire and the continuing Israeli violations, in addition to the atrocities that occurred in the city of El Fasher in the Sudanese Darfur region.

Regarding Gaza, the American National Interest website believes that what is happening in Gaza has nothing to do with the ceasefire, calling on the administration of US President Donald Trump to put actual pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to save the peace plan.

He added, “The imbalance of power and unconditional American support for Israel made… plan Trump’s 20 points are just ink on paper, as there is no trust between the two parties and each of them seeks to enhance their influence.”

The website considered that the ceasefire would not succeed without continued American pressure, warning that “Washington’s inaction means a death sentence for the Palestinians in Gaza.”

In the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, an analytical article asked: Can international intervention solve the Gaza crisis? In reference to the US President’s plan, which stipulates several other matters, including the establishment of an international force in Gaza, the analysis adds that the plan focuses on the security aspect and neglects the civilian dimension necessary to rebuild institutions and integrate fighters into city life, which increases the possibility of its failure.

The article points out that having a clear final goal in the plan is necessary and not a luxury, explaining that “with the absence of a clear final goal such as establishing a Palestinian state, the plan’s success has become fraught with risks.”

In an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari called for accelerating the formation of an international force in Gaza to pave the way for Israeli withdrawal. Al-Ansari said that there is a need for the international community to intervene, assess the damage, and begin reconstruction to officially maintain peace.

Al-Ansari added, “This is what will transform the entire process, and in its depth, from war to the next day,” warning of the Gaza Strip sliding into a deadly impasse, which he described as a state of no war and no peace, that is, the existence of a truce in name but with the continuation of killing.

For its part, the French newspaper Le Monde reported that “the ceasefire agreements in both Gaza and Lebanon are in Israel’s interest.” The newspaper believes that in both cases Israel imposed a situation resembling a truce or a low-intensity war, but its continued violations of the truce in Gaza resulted in much more casualties than in Lebanon.

Le Monde pointed to “the emergence of the phrase the Lebanese model in Gaza, which refers to the danger of turning into a limited war that escalates from time to time, but is fought by one party, Israel, to prevent the return of stability,” and continued, “This situation would not have been possible without an American green light.”
