Mexico City, December 2 (However).- The National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) confirmed this Tuesday the temporary suspension of Javier Tapia SantoyoSecretary of Administration of the institution, in response to the request of the Anti-Corruption and Good Government Secretariat (SCAB) for his alleged responsibility in the diversion of resources and inexplicable enrichment.
“In accordance with the letters of November 26 and 28 from the Anti-Corruption and Good Government Secretariat, the general director of the IPN, Dr. Arturo Reyes Sandoval, issued instructions to the Attorney General of the Polytechnic, Marx Yazalde Ortiz Correa, to comply with the immediate temporary suspension of the Secretary of Administration of the IPN, Javier Tapia Santoyo, as of November 29, while the investigations are carried out,” the study house reported in X, formerly Twitter.
As a result, the institute reported that the suspension began on November 29, as part of the procedure provided for in articles 54 and 60 of the General Law of Administrative Responsibilities.
The university indicated that the process will be developed in accordance with the current legal framework, which is why it reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability and collaboration with the investigative authorities.

Polytechnic Foundation denounces IPN director for embezzlement
The suspension occurred in parallel with the dissemination of complaints filed by the AC Politécnico Foundation against the general director of the IPN, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, to whom the organization attributed possible irregularities related to embezzlement, influence peddling and illicit use of powers.
The Foundation recalled that, in July, it reported the lack of verification of the use of 353 million pesos in donations given to the Institute more than two years ago, a situation that led to tensions with the current administration. Likewise, he argued that there was a risk of manipulation or elimination of evidence if the official continued in his position.
The case also includes a contract for 2.5 billion pesos awarded to the company Servicios Integrales Retimar, linked to a group of companies known as the “cleaning cartel.”
In addition to several deposits received between 2019 and 2022 in bank accounts of the official and companies related to him, including Human Mobile Systems and Labi Scientific.

On the other hand, the authority reported that, during his time at the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE), Tapia Santoyo would have authorized public resources for allegedly “ghost” companies, such as Interaction Biomédica, which obtained more than 1,613 million pesos.
The Anti-Corruption Secretariat also ordered restricting Santoyo’s access to institutional emails, internal systems and public resources to ensure the progress of the investigation.
