Just one day before thousands of people were due to flock to Belgium for the Tomorrowland music festival, the Orbyz Mainstage was destroyed by a fire.
The blaze occurred at 18:00 local time on Wednesday, and fortunately, no one was hurt, and no other areas of the festival grounds were affected. Still, the beloved Orbyz Mainstage burnt to the ground just hours before the likes of David Guetta, Lost Frequencies, Armin Van Buuren and Charlotte de Witte were set to perform.
Footage and images from the scene showed enormous plumes of black smoke filling the air as bright orange flames reduced the elaborate set design to smouldering ashes.

Writing on its website, Tomorrowland confirmed: “It’s impossible to put into words what we’re feeling. The Orbyz Mainstage of Tomorrowland Belgium 2025, a creation born from pure passion, imagination, and dedication, is no more.
“This wasn’t just a stage. It was a living, breathing world. From the very first sketch on a blank page, to countless hours of conceptual design, artistic collaboration, engineering, crafting, building, every single piece of Orbyz carried part of our soul.”
“But, we hold on to the magic Orbyz gave us. To the dreams it carried. To the team who gave their all.”

Despite the Orbyz Mainstage being reduced to rubble, Tomorrowland is not cancelled, the festival announced on Instagram.
“We can announce that DreamVille (campsite) will open tomorrow (Thursday, July 17) as planned and will be ready for all DreamVille visitors. All Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will take place as planned,” it said in a statement also available on the Tomorrowland website.
Organisers reportedly “spent the night working on possible solutions” for the mainstage area, though it’s not yet clear where the acts that were supposed to be performing there will be moved to.
Reacting to the news on Instagram, one festivalgoer said: “We love you, let’s make this the most special edition of Tomorrowland ever.”
“If magic exists, it will be at Tomorrowland,” another said.
