Well, uh, Nicki Minaj and SZA are having a massive, public fight on Twitter / X right now and it’s got very personal very fast. Seemingly out of nowhere, the two have been trading back and forth through the night and it’s extremely chaotic to keep up with. Since you probably have no clue how this began because it honestly is pretty nonsensical from an outsider, I have tried my very best to explain why Nicki Minaj and SZA are in the midst of Twitter spat beef right now and what’s actually happened.

SZA tweeted about Mercury retrograde
Nicki was calling Punch out on Twitter, saying that she’d been bullied and lied to by him. SZA then tweeted “Mercury retrograde.. don’t take the bait lol silly goose.” The Barbz, the defiant and unrelenting army of Nicki Minaj fans, found this tweet and have interpreted it as shade towards Nicki from SZA.
This enraged Nicki Minaj, who then targeted the Twitter beef with SZA directly at the latter and attacked her appearance by saying “Go draw your freckles back on bookie.” She then further tweeted “B*tch looking & sounding like she got stung by a f*cking bee. Dot dot dot *Draws on my fake freckles.*”
It got messy fast
Nicki then booted off about the success of SZA compared to her own, saying “B*tch put out a whole new album as a deluxe to an already existing album that was out for like a year or two so the original album could break records. Like what in the insecure lack of morals & integrity you doing? I thought she was like a real artist? Girl bye.”
She then went on an even longer rant about this where she says “Sza if every song you’ve ever done vanished right now the music business wouldn’t even miss you.” She also says that she is “an icon” but SZA is not.

How has SZA responded?
SZA has not mentioned Nicki directly, but has responded to a reply about the situation with a quote saying“ I get bullied by millions online every day then step my ass out onna packed stadium tour where ppl show me REAL love . IN REAL LIFE. My parents are healthy and I’m the most successful I ever been. GET SOME F*CKING PERSPECTIVE and BARK AT THE WALL!!!”

Nicki, on the other hand, has suggested SZA should be called “MZA” – calling her miserable.
