Mexico City.- The mayors Iztapalapa and Gustavo A. Madero account for one third of deaths breast cancer in Mexico City, according to the latest statistics collected by the local Ministry of Health.

In two years, 1,745 deaths were recorded in the country’s capital, the cause of which was this type of disease in the mammary glands; and of this amount, 573 loss of life occurred in the aforementioned demarcations; This is detailed by the Secretariat currently occupied by Nadine Gasman, in the response to request 090163325001741 from the National Transparency Platform.

The situations for which there is a risk of suffering from this disease, whose worldwide awareness month is October, are classified as biological, hereditary, hormonal and reproductive, health and lifestyle, and environmental; such as aging, first-degree relatives with this cancer, not having breastfed, prolonged use of hormonal therapies or treatments, diets high in carbohydrates and saturated fats, overweight or obesity, sedentary lifestyle, and consumption of harmful substances.
